FERGIE'S FORMER ASSISTANT HELD ON MURDER CHARGES

Police Wednesday arrested the former personal assistant of the former Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, on suspicion of murder after her millionaire boyfriend was found stabbed to death in their London home.

After a two-day search, police found Jane Andrews, 33, sitting in her car, which was parked at dawn along a highway in Cornwall, in southwest England.

The body of her boyfriend, Tom Cressman, was found by a work associate Monday. Police said he had been stabbed once in the chest.

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Dickie said officers were keeping an open mind as to the circumstances of Cressman's death.

Andrews was the duchess' dresser and accounts manager, as well as a close companion who traveled with her on foreign trips. Since leaving the duchess' employ in 1997, Andrews has worked in the London fashion industry.
