Albert F. Schroeder, 75, of Gainesville, Fla., a former resident of the Town of Boston and a retired electrician who enjoyed competitive pistol shooting, gardening and building and flying model airplanes, died Friday (Sept. 15, 2000) in Gainesville.

The Gasport native served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.

Schroeder was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of Hamburg Rod and Gun Club, Boston Valley Conservation Society and Western New York Outdoor Pistol League before moving to Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine; a daughter, Patricia Todd of Micanopy, Fla.; a son, Michael of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Melinda of New York City and May Brown of Gasport; and three grandsons.

There will be no services.
