Albert B. DiCesare, 94, of Depew, a retired estimating engineer, died Wednesday (Sept. 20, 2000) in St. Joseph Hospital, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of Technical High School and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Buffalo State Teachers College.
He taught math for a year, then went to work for a construction company. An estimating engineer, he was an officer in Depew Paving Co. for 35 years, retiring in the 1970s.
Active in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, he was a Eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Knights of St. John for more than 50 years.
He enjoyed horse racing and pinochle. He also supported many charities at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna.
He and Sue Lavoratori were married in 1932. She died in 1997.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol of San Diego and Sister Betty; a son, Bert of West Seneca; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 158 Laverack Ave., Lancaster, after prayers at 8:45 in Zurbrick-Amigone Funeral Home, 5615 Broadway, Lancaster. Entombment will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Lancaster.
