Viewing the Hillary Clinton-Rick Lazio debate on Sept. 13, I was struck by the use of words in the summations of the two candidates.
Clinton expressed her desire to fight for all of the things that are needed or desired by the western part of the state. She used the word "fight" at least three times in her summation. Lazio spoke of "working" for this or that result.
It may seem like a very minor point, but when violence is decried daily, I find it offensive that anyone wishes to "fight" for me. I greatly prefer Lazio's approach.
