Rosemary L. Salemi, 62, who was active in church and community affairs, died Sunday (Sept. 17, 2000) in her home after a brief illness.
A lifelong city resident, the former Rosemary Arnone was a 1955 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School.
For the past 22 years, she was secretary to the Division of Nursing at D'Youville College.
She was a member of the Parish Council of Holy Angels Catholic Church, past president of the Mothers Club and a member of the Jubilee Committee. She was a member of the Vermont-Prospect Block Club and the West Side Community Center and was active in restoring the Connecticut Street Armory.
Her husband of 34 years, Carl, died in 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria Manning of Irving and Angela; two sons, Carl Jr. of the City of Tonawanda and Joseph; two sisters, Joann Madigan of the Town of Tonawanda and Ally Rizzo of Hamburg; two brothers, Thomas Arnone of West Seneca and Frank Arnone; and five grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Thursday in Amigone Funeral Home, 1132 Delaware Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Holy Angels Church, 348 Porter Ave. Burial will be in Epiphany Chapel Mausoleum of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
