Putting political affiliations aside, there is one undisputable consequence of Hillary Clinton's bid for the U.S. Senate. In a short period of time, she has brought much-needed attention to upstate New York and our unique circumstances.
Particularly telling is the fact that her presence put Buffalo and Western New York in the spotlight as the eyes of the world watched last week's debate. This would not have happened if both candidates had been of the stature of Rick Lazio.
Why not be open-minded and take advantage of Clinton's potential for giving this area a strong voice in the Senate? As an area struggling not to be left behind in the new economy, we have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
