Harold G. Fisk, 79, a retired furnace technician for Newfane Fuel, died Monday (Sept. 18, 2000) in Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo.
He was born in Newfane and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1945. He was with the 28th Infantry in the Battle of the Bulge and on D-Day in Normandy. He received the Purple Heart.
Fisk was a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and Newfane Post 873, American Legion.
He retired in 1985 from Newfane Fuel after 35 years.
Fisk married Elnora Hoy on Jan. 1, 1942. She died in 1999.
He was a member of Grace Bible Church, where he taught Sunday school for several years. He arranged services and Bible studies at Newfane Health Care Facility.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Edgerton; a son, Duane of Rochester; a sister, Janet Fraser; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Grace Bible Church, West Avenue. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
