Joseph E. Marino, 80, a retired maintenance foreman at Occidental Chemical Co., died Sunday (Sept. 17, 2000) in his home.
He was born in Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School.
Marino was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the Pacific Theater.
He retired in 1980 after 35 years with Occidental.
Marino was a member of the Sempre Primus Club and was director of entertainment at the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club, Town of Niagara, of which he was a member for more than 25 years.
He enjoyed gardening, especially cultivating roses and growing vegetables.
Survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn Fabiano; two sons, Joseph J. and Michael B.; a daughter, Arline Manzi; a sister, Barbara Salerno of the Town of Tonawanda; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2486 Grand Ave., after prayers at 9:45 in Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Ave. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
