WEDNESDAY'S MEETINGS AND EVENTS

Amherst

Talk: Robert Cohen, author of "Milk -- the Deadly Poison," will speak, 7 p.m., Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road. The free presentation is sponsored by the Animal Rights Advocates of Western New York.

Meeting: The Amherst Industrial and Commercial Incentives Board will discuss ways to give tax breaks to small businesses in Eggertsville and the Harlem Road-Kensington Avenue area when it meets at 3:30 p.m., Town Hall council chambers, 5583 Main St., Williamsville.

Committee meeting: The Solid Waste Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall to hear updates on the waste-water treatment plant and compost facility.

Cheektowaga

Meeting: Environmental Advisory Committee, 9:30 a.m., Town Hall, Broadway and Union.

Meeting: Cleveland Hill School Board, 7 p.m., Mapleview Road campus.

Meeting: Zoning Board of Appeals, 7 p.m., Town Hall, Broadway and Union.

Clarence

Work session: The Clarence Planning Board will hold a work session to discuss ongoing developments with the town's master plan, 7 p.m., Clarence Town Hall, 1 Town Plaza.

Evans

Meeting: Evans Town Board meets at 7:30 p.m., Town Hall, 8787 Erie Road.

Hamburg

Public meeting: A meeting to update the public on developments at the former U.S. Army Nike Base on Lake View Road, 7 p.m., Lake View Fire Hall, Lake View Road. Representatives of the federal and state agencies involved and GZA GeoEnvironmental of New York, the town's environmental consultant, will be present.

Orchard Park

Meetings: The Orchard Park Town Board will discuss the state Department of Transportation's plans to lower the speed limit on Behm Road from 55 mph to 45 mph, 8 p.m., Orchard Park Municipal Building, 4295 S. Buffalo St.

The Orchard Park Town Zoning Board of Appeals, 7:30 p.m., Municipal Building.
