MAYVILLE -- Three people have been added to the Chautauqua County Wanted List.

According to sheriff's officers, Ramon L. Ramos, 19, of 840 E. Second St., Jamestown, is being sought for violation of probation for criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Deputies also said Sheila J. Trujillo, 29, of Houghten Road, Fredonia, is wanted for failure to appear on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property.

Another north county resident, Jared L. Williams, 25, of Route 438, Irving, is sought for violating his probation for second- degree robbery.

Thieves leave two bikes
as trade for two they stole

NIAGARA FALLS -- "Considerate" bicycle thieves left two bikes in the place of the two they stole from a 73rd Street yard late Saturday, police said.

Homeowner Sandy Evans reported that bikes belonging to her son and his friend were stolen from her front yard at about 10:30 p.m. Witnesses told the family that three males on bicycles were responsible.

Police said the men left behind two other bikes, including a girls' 10-speed. Those bikes were taken into police custody. The stolen bikes were valued at $200 apiece.

Driver, 17, faces charges
after truck strikes tree

ALLEGANY -- A teen from Care Hollow Road was injured Sunday afternoon when he missed a turn while driving on Nolan Drive and the vehicle struck a tree.

Richard E. Gleason III, 17, was headed north in the village around 4 p.m. when he lost control of the truck owned by Cheryl Gleason, 39, also of Carey Hollow Road.

Gleason was taken to Olean General Hospital for treatment of a possible broken leg.

Deputies charged him with speeding, having no seat belt, not driving in his lane and possession of marijuana.

Authorities arrest man
on Chautauqua Wanted List

DUNKIRK -- A man on Chautauqua County's Wanted List was arrested Sunday.

Jeremiah Haas, 22, of North Pangolin Street was taken into custody at his residence at 6:57 p.m.

Haas was charged with one count each of petit larceny, third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was held without bail in the city lockup pending arraignment in City Court.

Half-carat diamond ring
stolen from woman's home

NIAGARA FALLS -- A half-carat diamond solitaire engagement ring was stolen from a Weston Avenue home Sunday, police said. The ring was valued at $2,000.

Cynthia Crockett told police she had left the ring on her night stand Saturday night. She discovered it missing Sunday afternoon.

The ring had a diamond cradle, Officer Jon Schuster reported.

Man charged with stabbing
his neighbor four times

NIAGARA FALLS -- Police charged a 22nd Street man with first-degree assault Sunday afternoon, accusing him of stabbing a former neighbor four times in an unprovoked attack.

Eddie Byrd, 26, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. by Detective Lt. John Soltys and Detective Carl Berak. Byrd is scheduled for arraignment this morning in City Court.

North Tonawanda resident Robert Newbury, 48, was in serious and guarded condition Sunday night in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He suffered a collapsed lung and other injuries in the attack.
