Services were held today for Carmel P. McLaughlin, a Niagara Falls native, who died Saturday (Sept. 16, 2000) at the age of 87.
Mrs. McLaughlin, a former Porter Road resident, died in Schoellkopf Health Care Facility after a brief illness.
The former Carmel Caputo attended local schools and lived in Niagara Falls almost all her life, except during the 1960s, when she moved to Rome, Syracuse and Newburgh. She returned to Niagara Falls in 1970.
During the 1940s, Mrs. McLaughlin worked at Walker's Laundry and in the 1950s was a waitress and cook at several local restaurants.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society.
Her first husband, Joseph A. Wysocki, died Nov. 12, 1950. Her second husband, Edward L., died Aug. 9, 1981.
Survivors include a son, James Wysocki of Baltimore; a daughter, Sandra Pasquantino; two sisters, Roseann Burnette of West Lake Village, Calif., and Eadie Luna; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Sacred Heart Church. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
