Services for Linda Cowles O'Connor, 54, president of the South Wales Volunteer Fire Company since 1995 and a state-certified emergency medical technician, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wood Funeral Home, 784 Main St., East Aurora. Burial will be in Colden Cemetery.

Mrs. O'Connor died Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2000) of an apparent heart attack while at work in a residence in South Wales. She operated a house-cleaning business..

Born in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Springville-Griffith Institute. She was an avid seamstress and craftswoman and made many wedding and evening gowns for local residents.

Mrs. O'Connor was a life member and past president of the South Wales Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary before she became an active firefighter.

Survivors include a daughter, Vicky Sarver of East Aurora; two sons, Mike O'Connor of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Marty O'Connor of East Aurora; her mother, Rita Cowles of West Falls; two brothers, David Cowles of The Villages, Fla., and Richard Cowles of East Aurora; two granddaughters; and a beloved friend, Merle Robbins of Franklinville.
