Rose T. McClain, 89, a former massage therapist and volunteer at the Burchfield Art Center, died Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in the Episcopal Church Home after a long illness.
Born Rose Siska in Austria-Hungary, she came to this country at age 18 and became a massage therapist at the old Statler Hotel and then in private practice.
She was a volunteer and docent at the Burchfield Center for many years and served as co-chairwoman of the Docent Committee. She donated two works to the art center's permanent collection in memory of her late son, Joseph T. Suchan.
She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Seton Guild at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer and loved to read.
Mrs. McClain is survived by a sister, Valarie Siska; a brother, Paul Siska; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1035 Delaware Ave.
