'PATCH ADAMS' IS FREDONIA SPEAKER

The real "Patch Adams" will speak at 7 p.m. Monday in King Concert Hall at Fredonia State College.

Tickets to the appearance of Dr. Hunter "Patch" Adams, the subject of the Universal Studios film "Patch Adams" starring Robin Williams, are $10 each for the general public; $5 for students.

They are on sale at the central box office in the Williams Center on the Fredonia State campus.

Adams, a physician known for considering laughter the best medicine, is the founder of a holistic medical community in West Virginia that is run on the belief that "healing should be a loving human interchange, not a business transaction."

He is also a professional clown who leads an annual two-week clown tour of Russia in support of an orphanage project in Moscow.

His Fredonia State appearance is sponsored by the college's Spectrum Entertainment Board, Student Association and Convocation Committee.
