LeRoy A. Brierley, 76, a retired electrician, died Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness.
Brierley was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from Trott Vocational High School with an electrician's certificate.
He was an Army veteran of World War III, serving as a sergeant in the 4th Armored Infantry Division.
Brierley was employed as an electrician for Local 237, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, retiring in 1986. He had been a member of the union's Electricians Retirees Club and received 50- and 55-year pins.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church.
Brierley enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rhoda Sim; a daughter, Patricia Russ of Sterling, Va.; a brother, John E. of Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Jean Evert; three grandsons; and a great-grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth St., after prayers at 8:45 in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
