CORPS OF ENGINEERS PLANS TO DREDGE WILSON HARBOR

Supervisor Jerry L. Dean disclosed that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be dredging Wilson Harbor sometime after June 1 to make it deep enough for a tall ship to navigate.

Dean said a tall ship that draws 10 feet of water, the Americana, will be visiting Wilson during the first week of August as part of the new Harborfest promotion.

Dean said the harbor is now only seven feet deep. He said the dredging will be done without cost to the town.
