Radiant Energy Corp. has named David Williams chairman, replacing John Chew as the leader of the Orchard Park airplane de-icing company's board of directors.
Williams, 57, is the founder and former head of Beutel, Goodman & Co., an investment firm, and is currently a director of several aggressive growth companies in the United States and Canada. He has been a member of Radiant's board since 1996.
"As the company enters the new millennium, and I my retirement, I have asked David to assume the position of chairman," Chew said. "He brings added financial experience, management guidance and a strong vision for the future."
Chew will retain his seats on the company's board and executive committee.
Radiant Energy's InfraTek de-icing system, which uses infrared heaters instead of chemicals to de-ice aircraft, recently went into use at Newark International Airport. It is also being used at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and Wisconsin's Rhinelander-Onieda County Airport.
In recent days the company's stock has reached all-time highs. In Friday's trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange it closed off 50 cents at $8.25 (U.S.) per share.
