The Cleveland Hill School district is already reviewing its budget for the 2000-2001 school year.
Although the budget vote is still months away, school officials have laid the groundwork for the lengthy budget process.
The budget dissection begins March 1, when the board takes an in-depth look at instructional expenses for fall 2000. Talks continue regularly through March, with an overall review slated for April 5.
But the formal budget presentation won't be made until May 9 -- nearly one month after the board votes on adopting the plan. That vote is set for April 12. Residents vote on the plan May 16.
The proposed 2000-2001 budget likely will carry some tax rate increase. That's based on the district's tax history, which shows an average tax rate growth of 5.2 percent per year.
To help gauge anticipated enrollment for next year, the district is requesting that parents register kindergarten pupils early for the 2000-2001 school year. Registration will be accepted Tuesday through Feb. 10.
