Mayor Sam Teresi today will announce the appointment of Steven Centi as the city's new director of development.
Centi replaces Teresi, who stepped down from the position last summer to run for mayor.
Centi has been economic development assistant for the Jamestown Urban Renewal Agency, and loan administrator for the city's Local Development Corp. He was originally hired by Teresi in 1996.
Centi's "educational and employment background has well-prepared him with the knowledge and experience involved with the demands as director of development, Teresi said.
Teresi said he will submit Centi's name to the City Council for consideration at tonight's meeting.
