Two young men were found dead in a Brooklyn subway station Sunday morning, but transit officials did not believe they were struck by a train. Police continued their investigation.
The bodies were discovered at 7:19 a.m. in the Bay Parkway Station on the N Line in Bensonhurst by workers on a passing train.
The motorman of a Manhattan-bound train on the local track reported seeing one body on the adjoining express track, and his conductor noticed the other body lying face-up on the station platform, according to James Anyansi, a spokesman for New York City Transit.
Asked whether there was any possibility that the men had been hit by that train or an earlier train, Anyansi said: "On the contrary, we don't think that. . . . If the train goes over anything at all, no matter how little, the brakes usually get activated. In this case, that hadn't happened."
