The debate over what to name the courthouse is interesting. Here's a novel suggestion: Why not name the new courthouse after the people who paid for it? The politicians who worked hard to make it happen were already being paid to do their job -- that's why we elected them.
Now, if we're talking about a politician who raised the money from the private sector to provide a public service, then by all means name the building after him. However, I'd be surprised if any such building exists in Buffalo.
