Registered dietitian Sharon Lawrence says that most of us secretly believe at least one of these wacky food myths:

If nobody sees me eat it, the calories don't count.

If I eat it standing up, it doesn't count.

Broken cookies don't count.

If I have a salad for lunch, I deserve dessert.

A bad day is a license to eat whatever I want.

After a workout, I can eat twice as much.

If I eat quickly and wash it down with diet soda, it isn't fattening.
