JINGO WINNER IS WARMED BY NEWS OF TRIP TO VEGAS

"I'm Number One?" asked a stunned Vincent Cenname of Orchard Park when he heard of his first-prize win this week in SUPER JINGO Game 924.

"I've played a long time and won second prize once and some smaller prizes," he said. Cenname collects entry forms from neighbors and relatives.

"I get entries from my relatives, and I bring them down to your lobby every week," he said. He plans to bring his son, Darryle, with him to Las Vegas.

"I want to go as soon as possible, especially if it's this cold," Cenname said.

Cenname explained that he was in Las Vegas once in 1970. "I passed through Las Vegas on my way from California," he said.

Cenname, a retired Red Star Truck driver, and his son will travel aboard charter air and enjoy a five-night stay in the Paris Resort and Casino in Las Vegas plus $500 cash.

Other winners are:

Jerry Whelan of West Seneca -- Fusion Collection from Brand Names Furniture Gallery, which includes a corner desk, hutch, bookcase, utility stand, drawer file and manager's chair.

Bob and Jane Stoklosa of Cheektowaga -- Twelve tickets to The Buffalo News Box at Dunn Tire Park for one game.

Debra Laster of Buffalo -- Buffalo Bills autographed football.

Janet Gawlik of West Seneca -- Dinner and theater tickets.

"For goodness' sakes, I'm in it for the big one, but this is good," said Whelan as he learned of his second-prize win, the Fusion Collection from Brand Names Furniture Gallery.

"How did you know I needed that?" asked Whelan. "I have an in-home office, but it's not a very good arrangement."

Whelan is a veteran player and submits several entries every week. "My wife laughs at me and asks why I'm doing this anymore. She'll really be shocked at this one," said Whelan.

Whelan is a litigation analyst for Nationwide Insurance. His wife, Ileanne, works as a customer service rep for an insurance company.

"You've made my day and week and new millennium. Thank you so much," Whelan said.

"Fantastic! Thank you very much," said Bob Stoklosa when he heard of his third-prize win: 12 tickets to The News box at Dunn Tire Park for one Bison game.

"I'm pretty lucky lately -- I won tickets to Shea's and Lancaster Opera House in the past year. I'm only winning with The Buffalo News, not the lottery!" he said.

Stoklosa is a big Buffalo sports fan. "I had season tickets to the Bisons. In fact, I've had season tickets to all the Buffalo sports at one time or another," he said.

"You brightened my day. Thank you very much," said Stoklosa.

Laster, winner of a Buffalo Bills autographed football, said, "My husband Rudolph will love it. He's a Bills fanatic."

"I've been playing off and on for two years. I saw the Las Vegas trip a couple of years ago, so I started playing," said the nurse at Sisters Hospital.

"You're kidding? Oh how wonderful," said Gawlik of the fifth prize, a dinner and theater package.

"I can't believe it. I've played for years and won a dinner and Marineland tickets a long time ago," said Gawlik.

"I play every week and never miss."
