George J. Shiposki, 80, who worked as a packer in the Metallurgical Department of the Carborundum Co. for over 38 years, died Friday (Jan. 28, 2000) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Wananie, Pa., he attended school in his native state and moved to Niagara Falls after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Shiposki retired from the Carborundum Co. in 1978.
A member of St. Charles Catholic Church, he enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Fiorina Grimaldi; two sons, George J. Jr. and John M.; two sisters, Antoinette Noy of Toms River, N.J., and Mary Soklosky of Woodbridge, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Charles Church, 5604 Lindbergh Ave., following services at 10:30 in the Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
