EAST AURORA GETS REVENGE ON RIVERSIDE

Justin Myers scored 23 points while David Mallon had a triple-double (13 points, 11 blocks, 10 rebounds) as East Aurora avenged its only loss of the season with a 63-59 defeat of Riverside in a non-league matchup of top-ranked boys basketball teams Saturday night.

Ray Lotz also had 12 points for the host Blue Devils (14-1), ranked fifth among small schools. Karl Rainey scored 25 points for the No. 6 Frontiers (7-6), who toppled East Aurora, 64-54, on Jan. 14 at Riverside.

In another non-league game, Brad Ertl dished out his 500th career assist as No. 4 large school Iroquois routed Burgard, 93-67. Ertl, a senior who also had 19 points, totaled 12 assists to give him 506 for his career.

Jacob Steck and Lawrence Maroney (10 rebounds) led the scoring for the Chiefs (12-1) with 22 points apiece. Demetrius Washington led the Bulldogs with 24 points.

Msgr. Martin Assn.: Aaron Turner's triple-double (18 points, 10 rebounds, 12 blocks) led St. Francis to a 66-55 home win over Canisius. Michael Sabato contributed 11 points for the No. 3 large school Red Raiders (14-3), while Joe Zera led the Crusaders with 12.

Yale Cup: Pierre Gabart collected 21 points and six blocks as Grover Cleveland recorded its first league win with a 73-66 decision over Lafayette. Derrick Ware led Lafayette with 13 points.

Girls basketball

Non-league: Freshman Rachel Michalek scored 22 points as Sacred Heart avenged a 14-point loss earlier this season to Mercy (Rochester) with a 54-35 victory. Michelle Barnas, Jennifer Ebert and Meghan Kist each helped out with 10 points for the Sharks (11-4).
