Two Lackawanna teens accused of driving a car stolen from Hamburg Saturday ended up behind bars after police caught up with them after a short foot chase through the backyards of Washington Street, police said.
Police arrested Brandon Gibson, 18, a passenger in a stolen car that Officers Jeff Welsh and Chris Lalka spotted on routine patrol on Steelawanna Avenue.
After police tried to pull the car over, Gibson and driver D'Shawn Butler, 17, stopped the car on Washington Street and took off. Police said they followed them on foot and caught up with Gibson. Officers said they tracked Butler's footprints through the snow into a home he ran into that was not his, police said.
Butler and Gibson are each charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
