MOTORIST, 92, KILLED IN COLLISION

A 92-year-old motorist died Friday after a car and pickup truck collided in Port Dalhousie, Niagara Regional Police said.

The accident occurred at about 10 a.m., when a pickup driven by Frank Friesen, 27, of St. Catharines was heading west on Main Street and collided with a car heading south on Simcoe Street, driven by Robert Brown of St. Catharines.

After the initial collision, the car hit two cars parked along the south side of Main Street, and the pickup collided with a car driven by William Rotz, 77, of St. Catharines.

Brown was taken to St. Catharines General Hospital, where he died. A passenger, Shirley Brown, 67, was treated at the same hospital for injuries, police said.

Friesen suffered minor injuries, and Rotz was not injured, police said.
