Elizabeth Ann Holub of Houston, formerly of Amherst, died Jan. 19, 2000, in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston after a long illness. She was 38.
An Amherst native, the former Elizabeth Mayer graduated from Williamsville East High School, attended Buffalo State College, and graduated from Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio. In 1984, she moved from the Buffalo area to the Houston area, where she was a speech therapist and special education teacher.
Mrs. Holub was active in school and community affairs.
Surviving are her husband of 10 years, John; her daughter, Caitlynn; her mother, Helen Mayer of Amherst; her father, Kurt Mayer of Ankara, Turkey; one sister, Margaret Mayer of Orchard Park; and a brother, Peter Mayer of Cheshire, Conn.
Funeral services were held Monday in Houston. Mrs. Holub was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Nada, Texas.
