WHO: O: DJ Logic's Project Logic, with The WAZ
WHEN: 10 p.m. tonight.
WHERE: Nietzsche's, 248 Allen St.
When DJ Logic and his band Project Logic hit the stage at Nietzsche's tonight, be prepared for some musical monkey business. DJ Logic is nationally known for his interaction with live musicians, so don't be surprised if he mixes it up with openers The WAZ. David Wazik is expecting one "helluva booty moving affair." Logic's been playing live turntables since 1990, and Project Logic marks the first time he's been a band leader, too. His current album, "Project Logic," is also breaking new ground for him. "Logic's first solo disc, an astonishing mix of live instrumentation and turntable wizardry, confirms the supreme musicality at which his guest appearances have only hinted," said a recent rave review in SF Weekly.
Opening band The WAZ performs its improvised acid jazz/funk sounds at a new weekly Monday night series in Tim's Rendezvous, 520 Niagara St., beginning at 10. Wazik, upright bassist Edgar Hendersen and guitarist Stuart Fuchs recently welcomed sax and keyboardist Eric Crittenden to the band.
