Services for Agnes Beck, 89, formerly of Orchard Park, were held this morning in St. Matthias Episcopal Church, East Aurora.
The former Agnes Bowers died last Friday (Jan. 21, 2000) in Nashville, Tenn., of injuries related to a Dec. 2 motor vehicle accident in Elma.
Known as "Billie," Mrs. Beck was born in London, Ont. She was a 1933 nursing graduate of Buffalo City Hospital, which later was known as E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital, and had been active in Coterie, an organization that worked with tuberculosis patients.
She and her husband, the late John Beck, had been members of the Western New York Harness Horse Association and were active in harness racing in the 1940s and '50s.
Survivors include four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
