YWCA TO OFFER CHILD CARE IN CITY COURT BUILDING

The YWCA will open a new children's center at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Buffalo City Court Building, 50 Delaware Ave.

The YWCA already operates a busy children's center at Erie County Family Court, but expanded the service to City Court in response to a large demand for drop-in child care. The new children's center will provide additional space for children whose parents or legal guardians must attend to official court business.

Judge Joseph A. Traficanti, Jr., deputy chief administrative judge for courts outside New York City, will be the guest speaker at the grand opening of the new children's center. Tours of the new facility will follow.

The YWCA Children's Center at Buffalo City Court was funded by a $10,000 grant from the Children's Foundation of Buffalo and Erie County. It will receive operating funds through the Unified Court System of New York State.
