Last weekend, we had a blast sledding and skating at Como Park in Lancaster. The ice was great -- so smooth and clean. The sledding hill was fast and uncrowded. We packed some snacks and hot chocolate to sip by the roaring fire in the lodge. Sixteen degrees and sunny seemed almost like a heat wave. I couldn't get my sons to come inside to warm up. They were having too much fun tumbling and playing king of the hill on top of the plowed piles of snow.
I couldn't possibly move to a place that didn't have a real winter. We love it. Some people just don't know what they are missing. Now all we need is a good storm. Then we can have a day of snowball fights, fort building, sledding and shoveling, followed by hot chocolate and homemade cookies. Come on lake effect -- let it snow!
