The Board of Education ratified a four-year teachers contract Wednesday during a special meeting.
The agreement provides a 3.9 percent wage increase for 1999-2000 and 4 percent raises in each of the next three years.
The Lockport Education Association made concessions in medical and health benefits and in the amount of "contact time" teachers must spend with high school students. The contract also calls for a flexible exam schedule at the high school.
After an impasse was declared in negotiations in late November, a mediator worked with both sides to compromise in line with settlements in other local districts.
