Florence A. Tidd, who retired as a draftswoman in the design engineering department of the E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. for 31 years, died Saturday (Jan. 22, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was 85.

A Niagara Falls native, Ms. Tidd was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She attended the former Buffalo State Teachers College.

Ms. Tidd, who retired from DuPont in 1974, had lived in Cambria and Niagara Falls.

She was a 50-year member of the Niagara Falls Chapter 582, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Riverdale Rebekah Lodge 195.

Ms. Tidd had been a member of the Community Bible Church, Ransomville, the former First Christian Church, and had been active in Pierce Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Wilson, Dorothy M. Wilson and Frances M. Wright.

Private graveside services were held Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery.
