After a search of more than a year, the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District has a new director.
Board Chairman Thomas Erlandson said the panel appointed James Murphy of Schuyler Street, Jamestown, on Tuesday. Erlandson cited Murphy's experience in civil engineering at Northwest Engineering in Tidioute, Pa.
"He had extensive experience in designing and overseeing the construction of both sewer and water systems throughout Pennsylvania and parts of New York and Michigan," he said.
Erlandson said Murphy will oversee the district's treatment plant in Celoron and be in charge of the 150 miles of collection and transmission line that are part of the system.
