A Porter Street man was arrested Tuesday evening and accused of stealing more than $2,000 worth of furniture from his father's Chestnut Street storage building, Officer Michael Latta said.
Troy Saraf, 35, of Porter Street, was charged with grand larceny, burglary and criminal possession of stolen property, Latta said.
Saraf is accused of burglarizing Theodore Saraf's warehouse and stealing three sofas, three love seats and 24 kitchen chairs. His father owns John's Furniture on Locust Street, Latta said.
The arrest came after police recovered a sofa and a love seat in the rear yard of a Green Street residence. The resident told police Troy Saraf called him and stated that the furniture belonged to him and that he would come for it.
