John H. Tedesco, 81, a foreman in the baking department of Nabisco Shredded Wheat Co. for 44 1/2 years, died Monday (Jan. 24, 2000) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Born in Niagara Falls, Tedesco served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Teletype operator in the Asiatic and Pacific theaters. He retired in 1981 from Nabisco.

Tedesco was a member of Fredrick F. Cadille Post 1664, American Legion.

His wife, Mamie "Mimi" Mancini Tedesco, died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Ann; a sister, Lena Zelinsky of Syracuse; and two brothers, Charles C. and Frank J.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2499 Independence Ave., after prayers at 8:45 in Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home, 1300 Pine Ave. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
