Gerald W. Mengs, 79, a retired truck driver, died Monday (Jan. 24, 2000) in Medina Memorial Hospital after a bout with cancer.
He was born in Genesee County and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mengs worked for Price Trucking Corp. in Buffalo as a truck driver and also in the shipping department.
He was a keen observer of nature and enjoyed taking rides in the countryside.
Survivors include two brothers, Leslie of Elba and Gordon, and a sister, Doris Merrill of Batavia.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St. Burial will be in Boxwood Cemetery.
