The new pumper at Daniel Anson Hose Company No. 3 on Middle Road was officially dedicated Tuesday night and is now ready for service.
The Rev. Walter Wierbicki of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Washington Avenue sprinkled the pumper with holy water, and Fireman Ed Gorka, a member of the fire company for 68 years, broke a bottle of champagne over the front bumper.
The pumper was purchased from R.D. Murray Apparatus in Hamburg for $198,057.
The retired pumper is a 1975 model.
"It was a work horse second to none," said Fire Chief Michael Edwards.
