At least one East Aurora village trustee wants the village police to have a four-wheel-drive vehicle at its disposal, but the initiative may require a real sales pitch.
Trustee David J. DiPietro suggested the idea at Monday night's board work session, saying the police department has told him it needs such a vehicle.
The board made no decision and agreed to review it as part of its upcoming budget talks.
Village Administrator Patrick Richey said the issue was never raised by police lieutenants he met with during several meetings last year.
Cost estimates for such a vehicle range from $20,000 to $30,000.
