Dorothy M. Lawson, who was named Volunteer of the Year five times in 10 years by West Seneca Developmental Center, died Sunday (Jan. 23, 2000) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. She was 75.

Born Dorothy Harrison in Buffalo, she lived in the City of Tonawanda for more than 45 years and moved to North Tonawanda nine years ago.

She served as a senior companion volunteer at the Developmental Center from 1985 to 1995 and accumulated more than 3,000 hours at various group homes in the Tonawandas.

She also was a volunteer at the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Adult Day Care Center.

She was the widow of Le Roy C. Lawson. She is survived by a son, Le Roy C. Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and two grandsons.
