WOMAN FACES DWI CHARGE AFTER CRASH OF HER CAR

woman was charged with driving while intoxicated late Sunday after police found her attempting to start her badly damaged and disabled car on 16th Street.

Neighbors had reported hearing a loud crash a short time earlier, but Tammy S. Vlahoplous, 31, of Whitney Avenue told police that she couldn't recall having been involved in any collision, despite the obvious damage to her vehicle, which also had the driver's air bag deployed.

Vlahoplous was given a Breathalyzer test that indicated a blood-alcohol content of 0.23, over twice the legal limit. She faces a Niagara Falls City Court appearance.
