Michael V. Walters of Angola has been reappointed county commissioner of emergency services, County Executive Joel A. Giambra announced Monday. The position pays $79,446 annually.
Giambra also announced the appointment of James M. "Huey" McCullough of West Seneca as deputy commissioner of fire safety. The post pays $44,285.
Walters, a 27-year veteran of the Emergency Services Department, was deputy commissioner before he was named commissioner in 1998. The department includes the Division of Fire Safety, the Emergency Medical Services Division and the Disaster Preparedness Division.
McCullough, a West Seneca town fire commissioner and a public safety dispatcher, has served for more than 20 years with Vigilant Fire Company and is a former fire chief. He was Vigilant Fire Company Fireman of the Year in 1992.
