PORTER WOMAN ADMITS <br> WELFARE-BENEFITS THEFT

A Porter woman will be sentenced March 9 after pleading guilty to taking $19,823.50 in welfare benefits for which she was not eligible.

Angela M. Jeffords, 37, of Creek Road, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny.

Court papers said that Jeffords collected the welfare and food stamps from January 1997 to May 1999. Police said at the time of her arrest Aug. 6 that she had concealed the fact that she had jobs at the Lewiston-Porter School District and Theta Corp.
