Hazel A. Hartwick, 89, who had worked at Oak Orchard Elementary School as a custodian for 10 years, died Monday (Jan. 24, 2000) in Medina Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born Hazel King in Ridgeway, she lived in the Medina area her entire life.

Mrs. Hartwick also had worked in production at Birdseye Foods for several years.

An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing euchre and gardening.

Her husband, Kenneth G., died in 1960.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Carroll; a son, Kenneth D. of Middleport; two sisters, Jennie King and Emma Wasnock; a brother, Keith of Birdsall; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in the spring.
