A 38-year-old Niagara County man who suffered severe injuries to his left side when his snowmobile was struck by a car on Hammond Hill Road was in critical condition Sunday in the intensive care unit of Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo.
Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies said Richard C. Brunetta of Ward Road, Wheatfield, was traveling down the center of Hammond Hill near Fowler roads at about 9:43 p.m. Saturday when another vehicle came over a hillcrest, striking the snowmobile and throwing Brunetta from it.
He was treated at the scene by East Otto Ambulance personnel, then transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC.
The driver of the other vehicle -- Kimberly Krajenski of Otto -- was not injured. A charge against Brunetta for failure to keep right is pending, sheriff's deputies said.
