A Mass of Christian Burial for Gladys Anna Salamon, a Clarence native who had a long retailing career in New Jersey, will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Marlton, N.J. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, N.J..
She died Thursday (Jan. 20, 2000) at her home in Mount Laurel, N.J. She was 72.
The descendant of one of the Clarence area's pioneering German families, the former Gladys Schurr lived in Mount Laurel for the past 28 years.
She worked for J.J. Newberry Co. for several years before spending more than 20 years as a department manager for Clover Department Store in Cherry Hill, a division of Strawbridge and Clothier. She retired in 1990.
She was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church.
Her husband of 40 years, Edward J. Sr., died in 1989.
Mrs. Salamon is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Komar and Suzanne Addezio, both of Marlton; two sons, Edward Jr. of Mount Laurel and Peter H. of Marlton; a sister, Irene Heiman of Akron; and 10 grandchildren.
