If Doug Flutie went 10 for 22 for 150 yards with six sacks, three passes knocked down and a safety and won the game, Larry Felser and his band of followers would be screaming for his job instead of trying to make Rob Johnson out to be the second coming of John Elway.
The whole idea behind the move was because Johnson was supposed to stretch the defense and score a lot of points When that didn't happen, injuries to the offensive line and crowd noise were blamed. If that's the case, what better time to put Flutie in, since he has more experience and definitely more escape ability? He certainly could have done no worse.
It must be nice to have a job where there is no accountability, say whatever you want, whatever the theme of the hour is and if you're wrong, so what. Most of us have jobs where what we do or say has consequences.
