TOP JINGO WINNER WILL GET TO TAKE HER HUSBAND TO VEGAS

"You got to be kidding. This isn't a joke, is it?" asked a shocked Gloria Calhoun of Lockport when she heard she was first-prize winner this week in SUPER JINGO Game 923. "I've never won anything. I send entries in almost every week."

She and her husband, Richard, have won a five-night stay at the Paris Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, plus $500.

"I've been playing off and on for 10 years and never won anything," she said. "I send in entries for everything in the paper, and this is my first win."

Calhoun is the mother of two daughters and has three grandsons. She is a cleaner at Starpoint Central Schools in Pendleton.

Her husband "has never been to Las Vegas before. I was in Vegas this past October with my daughter, her friend and my sister. I try to go every couple years if I can. It's my week away," Calhoun said.

"Oh, really, my goodness, I'll have to go buy a new house," said Elaine T. Devine of Kenmore as she learned of her second-prize win this week, the Fusion Collection from Brand Names Furniture Gallery. Her prize includes a corner desk, hutch, bookcase, utility stand, drawer file and manager's chair. "I wish it was the first prize.

"I won a couple of little prizes, but this is the first time I hit the big time," Devine said. "I have a computer, so maybe I can use some of the pieces."

Devine is retired from Ticor Title Insurance Company, where she served as an assistant vice president. "I stay busy," she said of her retirement. "I organize the senior club at church. I may even donate some of these things to the church."

"No kidding?" said Joe Kusmierczyk of Orchard Park when he heard of his third-prize win: 12 tickets to the Buffalo News box at Dunn Tire Park for one Bisons game. He handed the phone to his wife, Joanne, who entered the contest in his name. "Oh, boy, I never win anything," she said.

"I just started playing JINGO again," Joanne Kusmierczyk explained. "I got tired of looking for JINGO in the paper every night, so I gave up a while back. I only started again last week."

The Kusmierczyks plan to take friends and family to the ballgame.

This week's fourth-place winner of an autographed Buffalo Bills football, Diane Hereth of Cheektowaga, was pleased to learn of her win. "No kidding? That's really cool. I'm really excited. Thank you very much for the good news," she said.

Hereth explained that she's a big-time football fan. "I waited in line for 45 minutes to get Jim Kelly to autograph a football for me," she said.

She has played SUPER JINGO for eight years and has won movie passes in the past.

"I had a feeling I was going to get a call from SUPER JINGO this week. This is remarkable," Hereth said.

"Oh, really? Send them right down," Bernice Zelazny of Blasdell said as she learned of her fifth-prize win of dinner and theater tickets.

"This is my second or third win. I won car washes and movie tickets before. I'll probably take my daughter, Arlene Gramza, with me. We buddy-buddy together all the time," Zelazny said.

"I'm retired from Frontier Central Schools, where I was a bus driver for 30 years," Zelazny explained. "I work part time now cleaning offices, and I absolutely love it."
