A West Side store clerk who refused to heed a knife-wielding robber's threat to stab him succeeded in stopping the crook from fleeing with three bottles of beer late Friday night, authorities said.

"Give me what I want or I'll stick you," Anthony Perry allegedly said to clerk Abdo Alamary, who was working in a shop on the 300 block of Jersey Street, according to Central District Detectives Edward Cotter and Timothy McDonald.

Perry, who was holding two large kitchen knives, was leaving with the beer when Alamary grabbed and held him until the detectives arrived at the scene, police said.

Perry, 32, of Plymouth Avenue, was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a crack cocaine pipe.
